Strony biernej używamy wtedy gdy chcemy poinformować kogoś o wykonaniu danej czynności, nie jest natomiast ważne kto wykonał tę czynność, np. Wiadomość mailowa jest teraz wysyłana - informacja kto ją wysyła nie jest kluczowa.
Stronę bieną budujemy poprzez użycie w odpowiednim czasie czasownika BE + PAST PARTICIPLE (taken, written).
W Present Continuous i Past Continuous dodajemy jeszcze BEING: BE + BEING + PAST PARTICIPLE

CZASY PRZESZŁE
John sent emails yesterday. - Emails were sent yesterday. (by John)

John has sent emails lately. - Emails have been sent lately. (by John)
John has been sending an email for the last 2 minutes. - An email has been sent for the last 2 minutes. (by John)
John had sent emails before he came to work. - Emails had been sent yesterday before John came to work. (by John)
John had been sending emails for a few minutes when you arrived. - Emails had been sent for a few minutes when you arrived. (by John)
CZASY PRZYSZŁE
John will send emails tomorrow. - Emails will be sent tomorrow.
John will be sending emails in an hour. - Emails wil be sent in an hour.
