PRZYMIOTNIKI I PRZYSŁÓWKI
Przysłówki tworzymy poprzez dodanie -ly do przymotników, np.
beutiful - beautifully
polite - politely
kind - kindly
Istnieją jednak przysłówki, które mają tę samą formę co przymiotniki:
fast - fast
late - late (istnieje wyraz 'lately', ale jego znaczenie to: ostatnio)
hard - hard (istnieje wyraz 'hardly', ale jego znaczenie to: zaledwie)
STOPNIOWANIE PRZYMIOTNIKÓW I PRZYSŁÓWKÓW:
Większość jedno i dwusylabowych przymiotników oraz przysłówki jednosylabowe stopniujemy dodając -er i -est.
nice - nicer - the nicest
fast - faster - the fastest
slim - slimmer - the slimmest
Niektóre przymiotniki dwusylabowe (np. zakończone na -full i -less) lub więcej sylabowe oraz przysłówki dwu i więcej sylabowe stopniujemy dodając more i the most.
beautiful - more beautiful - the most beautiful
expensive - more expensive - the most expensive
carefully - more carefully - the most carefully
Przedimek THE w stopniu najwyższym przysłówków nie jest konieczny, a szczególnie w mowie potocznej rzadko używany.
